Taking Center Stage: Women Making History on Their Own Terms
SESSION 1: SATURDAY NOVEMBER 15 @11:00 AM
Two Talks.
One Purpose.
Elevating Women in History.
Over two unforgettable days, Dr. Bonnie J Morris will illuminate women’s remarkable contributions to culture and confront the ways their voices have too often been erased. Through her dynamic talks Bonnie invites us to celebrate, preserve, and amplify the stories of women whose lives shaped our collective history.
Women have always shaped culture on the field, on stage, and in boardrooms yet their stories are too often erased. In this powerful talk, Dr. Morris spotlights trailblazing women in sports, music, and business who redefined what was possible.
Discover how reclaiming these stories transforms our understanding of history and our role within it. This inspiring event will help galvanize the importance of keeping our history alive and will include a post-talk Q&A and book signing opportunity with Dr. Morris.
Dr. Morris is a professor of women’s history and the author of nineteen books exploring women’s lives, culture, and legacies. With a Ph.D. from Binghamton University, she has taught at Harvard Divinity School, George Washington University, Georgetown University, and currently lectures at UC Berkeley. Her award-winning works—including Eden Built by Eves, Revenge of the Women’s Studies Professor, and Women’s History for Beginners—celebrate women’s voices across history. A lifelong diarist and storyteller, Dr. Morris has been a global lecturer for Olivia Cruises and Semester at Sea and a consultant for Disney Animation, the Global Women’s Institute, and the U.S. State Department.A dynamic talk and community gathering with Bonnie J Morris
