Field Trip: Seattle Waterfront with Emily Burns

Join us this summer as we take trips off the rock!

All costs for field trips (i.e., ferry tickets, entrance fees, food, etc.) are the responsibility of the individual. No RSVP necessary.

TRIP #1 - Seattle Waterfront

Explore the waterfront (Seattle) and get a private tour with Emily Burns!

July 22nd, 2026

10am - 2pm

We’ll take the 9:25 AM water taxi, then walk and meet Emily at her office around 10 AM.

Emily will take us on a tour of the waterfront and tell us some of what went into the new construction + design. We’ll also get a chance to meet Ruri Yampolsky - the Arts program manager.

After our tour we’ll have lunch together and then have time to explore before we head home on the 3 PM water taxi.

Please meet us in line for the 9:25 foot ferry from the north end dock to downtown Seattle. (It’s the tan dock to the left of where the car ferry boats dock). Be dressed for the weather, have money for lunch and bring your water bottle!

No registration necessary, just meet us in the morning for this fun and informal WHtK Field Trip! If you can’t make this one, we’ll be heading to Tacoma Art Museum in August!

More about Emily:

Emily Burns is the Waterfront Asset Management Program Manager / Interim Real Property Work Group Manager for the new Seattle Waterfront - which is one of the city’s most significant infrastructure investments — encompassing the new Alaskan Way, multiple bridge structures, and east/west street improvements that enhance corridor connectivity.
