Wheel of the Year:
Celebrate the Turning of the Year by taking the time to acknowledge Mother Earth’s Gifts to us by rooting ourselves in the old path and creating deeper connections with our ancestors.
Imbolc
Imbolc translates to “in the belly,” reflecting the promise of new life and the first signs of spring stirring within the earth. Historically, this was a time to honor the increasing sunlight and prepare for the coming growing season. Although winter still holds its grip, the days are growing noticeably longer, and the earth begins to awaken. Farmers would bless their fields and livestock, symbolizing hope for a bountiful harvest to come.
Ritual
Creation of Brigid’s Cross - Once crafted, place your cross above your front door for protection. Some traditions suggest leaving the cross or doll outside overnight on Imbolc to absorb the blessings of the sabbat before bringing it indoors.
