Women's Summit

  • Women Hold the Key 9822 SW Gorsuch Road Vashon, WA, 98070 United States (map)

Join us for a day of connection and discussion around how we can empower women inside and outside of our community in the following months and years. PLEASE bring your daughters and mothers and grandmothers - we will connect in a multi-generational community! Since it’s a national holiday - many women are not at work!

As we see a potential roll back on women’s access and rights, we feel THIS day is significant to focus on women - no matter what is happening at the national level. We honor and celebrate today as Martin Luther King day as well - and we’ll have a discussion around his legacy and focus on service opportunities.

Join us in community at any time - for any piece that speaks to you or for the whole day!

Current Schedule is as follows.

8:30am - 10:30am

Coffee, Turkish coffee, tea and breakfast nibbles served

10:30am - 11:30am

A live stream with Vashon resident Kirsten Gagnaire - where she is in residence at the London School of Economics. She will focus on International strategy and policy.

We hope that you will then travel to Vashon Center for the Arts for their MLK day event from 1pm - 3pm.

4:00pm - 7:00pm

Potluck - please bring a dish to share. We will provide utensils, plates, cups and drinks.

We’ll gather again to talk about the days’ events, how we move forward as women, how to be in service to our community and support those who might need it.

Find our more about Kirsten Gagnaire HERE

Why do women's voices matter in international strategy and policy?  How have women historically participated in the establishment of important international institutions like the League of Nations and the UN?  What's the state of women's voices in international policy today and how does the state of our world reflect that?  We'll talk about these questions and more with Kirsten Gagnaire, CEO of Kati Collective.  With a long career in global health, working all over the globe with clients like the World Bank, Gates Foundation, Meta and others, Kirsten has a unique perspective with first hand experience of how women's voices translate into important policy.  She's currently working on her MSC in International Strategy and Diplomacy at the London School of Economics & Political Science and will join us via Zoom from London, where she's currently steeped in these issues.
